Datapools

With the Ocean Protocol Market currently in Beta we are exploring the possibilities for Open Data, Open Science and citizen participation in the data economy, eager to learn, while being amazed by the work of the Ocean Protocol Foundation, the Ocean Community and the Ocean Academy.

During the beta phase a few first datasets have been published featuring open data with added value. This path has lead to many important insights.

We think that the market is open to open data and a non-profit approach and a variety of different types of data and that the beta phase is exactly meant to be a place and time to do experiments with the market.

Due to the uncertainty in the market (this is a beta after all) we very much recommend to all market participants to act responsible take the beta as a beta. It is not finished, it changes daily and is a prototype. Nobody knows how the market will look like tomorrow. Do your own research and be aware of risk associated with participation in the market. Please read the Ocean blog article about staking and risks and follow the Ocean developers on GitHub.

As is not possible to change existing descriptions for previous data pools we aim to provide updates on descriptions and data here on the website. This might include updates on the data structure, pool development and further documentation on the various sets of data. If there are weaknesses in the existing sets of data we will be happy to make improvements on existing sets and learn from those to further develop new types and better sets.

The following data is currently available:

Please note that these are a mix of datasets to trial and experiment and are first steps undertaken during the beta market to get a feeling and first experiences. There will be a restart when the beta phase ends as we already learned a lot from only a few days on this exciting platform.
