The data economy gives everybody in the world new opportunities to access, use and share data. As a result of we expect fundamental changes to the data economy. Scientists, citizens and businesses will have new ways to share, use and sell data while being GDPR-compliant and without compromising the privacy and rights of others. A new age of #opendata and #openscience has begun.
All this brings new opportunities for open science, open access and open data curators and users in Europe. Citizens can now share their data and be rewarded for curating data for science and the society.
Right now we are on a journey to evaluate the potential of the beta marketplace. Here we offer selected data with added value through description, annotation, aggregation, combination and translation and want to learn more about the beta market and how it works. As we further aim to contribute to the mission of open data and open science we want to make useful data available to the public and new target audiences and this attract new participants to the market. We hope to achieve this by the work we added to the datasets. We think that there is a place for profit and non-profit data in this market.
